Sodïq Oyèkànmí

Sodïq Oyèkànmí (he/him) is a poet, thespian and librarian. A 2022/23 Poetry Translation Centre (UK) UNDERTOW Cohort. He holds a B.A in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan where he specialised in Acting & Dramaturgy.

Nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net, he won the 2022 Lagos / London Poetry Competition. In 2020, he co–judged the Akukọ Inaugural Literary Competition alongside Rosed Serrano. He was longlisted for the Nigerian Student Poetry Prize and won a commendation for the Adroit Poetry Prize (2022).

An emerging translator exploring the Yorùbá language and its cultural heritage, his works are published/ forthcoming in Agbowó, Aké Review, Brittle Paper, Gutter Magazine, Haven Spec, Kalahari Review, LOLWE, Lucent Dreaming, Longleaf Review, North Dakota Quarterly, Passages North, Poetry Wales, Strange Horizons, The Orchards Poetry Journal, trampset, Uncanny Magazine, VAINE and elsewhere.
