Poems

uncontained

turning for the door, tears began streaming ●● tears as I crossed the threshold

tears till I felt tired ●● and I walked on that asphalt
the chain links of tears falling ●● till I reached the airport
around 7 a.m. ●● leaving a well of tears
I melted when the plane took off ●● a candle dripping till I landed
an overspill of tears ●● I had never joined that many tears before
but since I left you, I’m uncontained ●● awash with grief and longing
